10th Anniversary Greetings
Message from AAWE's former Chair of Board of Trustees
With profound gratitude to God, I am happy for the progress made by the ASSOCIATION AGAINST WOMEN EXPORT (AAWE). Until my election as the Superior General of my Congregation, I was the chair of Board of Trustees here in Benin City. We ensured that microcredit was given to indigent women of Edo State extraction. AAWE provided the funding for this project which has helped a lot of women to take care of themselves and their families. The loan provided is a revolving one at 0.5 percent. Our women are always happy taking our loan especially as they are treated with dignity to their persons and given enough time to use the loan before returning it. Our loan has become very popular that we are not able to meet with the requests before us. I pray that those supporting AAWE with finance will be able to provide more fund for this laudable project.
The scholarship programme is another project of AAWE targeting female University undergraduates from Edo State who have no one to assist them with their tuition, books, room and board. The assistance of this effort has produced graduates in Law already. Other beneficiaries will be passing out very soon. This arm of the AAWE work in collaboration with COSUDOW is very important as it has reduced the incidence of trafficking in women in Edo State which is very endemic with trafficking in human beings in Nigeria. More important is the fact that these young ladies/women have been empowered for life and are adequately prepared to face the challenges of life in the future in Nigeria or elsewhere in the world.
As AAWE carries on with its good work in the interest of humanity, I commend all those who work tirelessly for the success of the projects. I am grateful to those who provide the fund for the projects. I thank God for the life of Dr. Roseline Okosun for the vision to bring AAWE as an NGO into existence. AAWE has become an instrument in the fight to uplift the dignity of women. The website will therefore help to showcase the good projects of the NGO. I encourage all to access the site. Well done to all of us!
While commending you all to the love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus,
I remain yours truly,Sr. Florence Nwaonuma, SSH.

Dear Dr. Okosun:
CONGRATULATORY MESSAGE
Congratulations on the tenth anniversary celebration of the Association Against Women Export. During your brief history, you have become a beacon of hope for many young women who otherwise would have ended up being trafficked or exploited. I thank you and your collaborators in your effort at educating womenfolk in our country particularly in Edo State. Is a fact that about 90% of over 20 thousand of young women victims of trafficking are from Edo State. Your project has prevented many from fallen into this number.
As our Founder, Archbishop Patrick Ekpu always says: “no culture or civilization can stand until the womenfolk of that culture has fully assumed their role”. Through AAWE you have help to give our women opportunity to assume their role in society. Yours has been a very essential and unique contribution to Nigerian! May God reward you abundantly and may he give you many more years of service.
Ad Multos Anno
